European Union Project (ERASMUS+) with purpose of establishing
an international curriculum in search and rescue procedures in mining.

First meeting in Turkey

The first project meeting was held in May with the participation of representatives of all research groups. At the first stage of the meeting, the hosts presented a reports on similar, ongoing or already completed projects. A work schedule and scope of duties were also established, and tasks were divided.
Later, the research team visited the Tümad İvrindi Altın Madeni mine, open pit, gold processing plant, and a leach plant.
The next point of departure was the Balıkesir Üniversitesi İvrindi Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksek Okulu high school, where a meeting with the authorities of the Balikesir province and the school authorities was held. The meeting was attended by representatives of the army, police, fire brigade and other uniformed services. There were also interviews with project delegates for local Turkish TV.
In the tourist and integration part of the trip, the group visited the Altar of Zeus next to the town of Küçukkuyu, the historic town of Adatepe and the former settlement of the Greeks - Ayvalik and the island of Alibey Adasi (Cunda) and the Devil's Table (Şeytan Sofrası).
Everyone rated the first meeting very highly, both in terms of research and integration of the group.
